2008 WMU BASKETBALL SIGNS 4 TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

The four include:

Mike Douglas (G, Detroit Finney)

Douglas averaged 15 points and 14 rebounds during his Junior season at Detroit Finney.

Demetrius Ward (G, Detroit Pershing)

Ward averaged 13 points, 6 assists and 3 steals per game last season at Detroit Pershing.

Flenard Whitfield (F, Detroit Martin Luther King)

Whitfield averaged 17 points, and 7 rebounds per game last season at MLK.

Muhammed Conteh (Bloomington, Indiana/ Providence School, Florida)

Averaged 16 points, 13 rebounds during his Junior season in Florida.

This class obviously weighs heavily in the favor of Detroit players which has boded well for the Broncos in the past. Detroit product Mike Williams led the Broncos to the 2004 MAC Championship as well as a birth in the NCAA Tournament and current Bronco Andre Ricks is improving into a bigger and badder threat every single day.

Bronco Head Coach Steve Hawkins is no doubt recruiting solid talent that is making WMU Basketball into a possible perennial powerhouse in the MAC and among Mid-Majors.
