Broncos Tim Hiller and Brandon West named MAC-West Players of the Week

It has been a struggle for guys like Tim Hiller and Brandon West all season for the Broncos. These two came into the season with high hopes but failed to gain the consistency that was expected at an early age.

For Hiller pressure was all over him from the start because of his freshman season...but let's not forget that he this is only his second full season. Brandon West is a true sophomore and especially at Running Back it takes some time to get assimilated to the ways of Division 1 football.

I have said all along that the media chose the Broncos to win the MAC one season too soon. Let's face it...this team is young and too much was expected of them early on.

It is the success of the squad late that is most telling of what can and most likely will happen next season. A 28-19 shocking win over Iowa in Iowa as well as the opportunity to win their final two games if they beat Temple Saturday at 2 from Waldo.

Either way...winning the MAC is a huge accomplishment...they certainly came short this season...but next season is already in their sites...there is no doubt the Broncos may have finally found their consistency.
